Positive Thinking Clinic
First of all, a great feeling towards being nominated for the bayside business awards for 2019.
Exciting packages coming up include:
Wanting an opportunity to try audios to see if you can make a change in your mindset and thus weight? A great option when you want to use this minimally invasive procedure. After all, what goes in our ears forms part of our diet doesn’t it?
Mindfulness: this is ever so increasingly popular. Have you realised its not “mindlessness”, its actually “mindfulness”. A focus of attention.
Healing grief: grief may visit us in a number of forms. Sometimes we need the help of a professional to ensure a healthy journey.
Melting worries and relaxing [kids]: one of my most popular programs. Kids find their own “magic” or technique to view worries in a different lens, and to experience a new way of relaxation.
Single session hypnosis on health

CENTRE NEWS
Little Dolphins Long Day Care Centre has had a busy month!!
We had many incursions as we explored science week creating a variety of experiences which challenged the children’s knowledge and thinking as well as having them explore through investigation and curiosity. We also had a wonderful visit from the Dentist as they joined us for a talk about healthy eating and oral hygiene. Sydney Dental Clinic brought a giant tooth and tooth brush which the children were encouraged to demonstrate their excellent brushing skills. The Dentist also conducted free dental checks for the children.
The children have been working on creating some beautiful father’s day gifts to take home as well as our planned father’s day afternoon tea which we will be looking forward too. Little Dolphins supports many fundraisers in raising awareness for special causes and are proud to deposit our funds from Jeans for Genes day, daffodil day which we wore yellow and the upcoming foot colours day.
Rainbow Cottage
A huge thank you to all our Educators and families that got involved in Jeans for Geans Day, by donating and wearing Jeans o support our fundraiser. Such an important foundation to get behind.
We have just purchased an new outdoor clear easel that at this point the Preschoolers are using in their yard. We have been focusing on our colour recognition, through the easel, mixing colours and combining both sides of easel work. Our favourite has been the self portraits and the portraits the children are able to do for each other as they look through the clear easel, This activity has promoted alot of social interactions between the children as 3 child can paint at one time.
We also purchased a Mud Kitchen set up for the Mickeys yard, as they have loved bringing home corner outside. So we created a home corner outdoors, using a wooden decking and the new mud kitchen and we have placed it near the sandpit and our little friends have been busy cooking making cupcakes, dinners and garden salads. When the weather heats up we will introduce mud to our kitchen so the children have access to different medium.
Rainbow Cottage celebrated Science week with lots of hands on science experiments, the coolest as rated by the children was our different size water beads that grew over a week, and the children got to get their hands in and squish and play with them. We discussed size, weight and talked about how the fluid (water) was making them grow each day.
And of course our little friends in the nursery also got to explore science week. The Educators created an erupting Volcano using baking soda and vinegar - but first they wrapped play dough around the bottle , and then wowed the children with the lava of fluffy foam that erupted. Each month in our babies room we explore a country of the month and we learn about a country or culture that one of our little friends families have as their background. In August we explored Bangladesh, and focused on Eid and looked at the flag, allowing children to paint their own with the colours provided. We have already explored Russia & Egypt, and in September we might be doing France and then Australia.
We are currently taking bookings for 2020, so please give us a call to book a tour to explore our centre.
Banbury Cottage
The Educators and children at Banbury Cottage have been busy little bumble bee's over the past month. We celebrated World Tree Day by planting new native plants in our garden with the children. Discussing with them the origins of the tree's and how they will attract butterflies, beetles and birds to our yard. Our children have really shown interest in insects so daily we bring out magnifying glasses for the children to explore the yard and look for insects in our gardens and trees and bushes. The excitement you hear when they call out to each other when they have found a new insect is awesome, and then the gathering of children who also want to have look makes it all so worth it. So much conversation goes on in our yard, so much cooperative play and investigation and exploring. We love spending our days outdoors.
Science week at Banbury was both hands on and full of play and learning, of course we had some messy play, but we also explored many other aspects of science. Learning about sound and how sound is made. A simple experiment by placing some foil over a speaker and placing some rice on the speaker and watching it move as music played. Our children thought it was the funniest thing seeing rice dance. But it got us all thinking. When the music got louder did the rice jump higher or lower? Try it at home, so much fun.
As Father's Day approached our friends at Banbury got busy making gifts for their dads. Hearing so many beautiful words as to why children love their dads melted our hearts. As you can imagine, there were also some funny comments why kids love their dads so much...... daddy does the biggest farts....daddy loves to sleep watching the TV......daddy loves all the foods. We wish all the dads and Grandfather's a very Happy Father's Day. This year we are holding our own Black Tie Father's Day Disco, for the children and their dads.
Our Preschoolers are looking forward to the next upcoming Emotional Intelligence Workshop being held at the Positive Thinking Clinic with Amanda on the 7th September. For more information reach out and we will share info with you.
PARENT INFORMATION
Toilet Training
Just as your baby starts to get older, and you fall into a comfortable routine, it comes time to toilet train. And all of a sudden you find yourself in a spot where you just don't know what to do! Here are some helpful hints to get your prince or princess on the throne.
Pick the right time
Most children aren't ready to use the toilet until they are two or three years' old.
Start preparing your child
It's a good idea to prepare at least a week
Give it a go
It's a good idea to wait until you've got a quiet week at home before starting. Begin first thing in the morning by putting your child in their special underpants, and some old, loose-fitting clothes.
The first few weeks
Toilet training doesn't happen overnight; it might take your child just a few days to get the hang of it, or possibly a few weeks.
Troubleshooting
Sometimes children need a little extra help.
If you find yourself getting angry, or you feel as though your child is not responding, simply stop. Have a break and try again in a few weeks.
