All Areas Family Day Care was established in 2013. It is a new approved service catering to the needs of the community to provide quality home-based child care in all of the Greater Sydney Suburbs.
Our Vision: Creating a Community of Families. “United We Grow”
Philosophy Statement: All Areas Family Day Care statement of philosophy will guide our interactions with children, Educators, staff, parents and the community.
We Believe:
- We believe in fostering the relationships children have with their family. We acknowledge that the family is the most important connection a child has and support them in their individual desires for their child’s care, development and learning. We encourage all families to become involved in their child’s program on a regular basis.
- We value the unique care opportunities that Family Day Care provides to the community and the need to offer families high quality and flexible care for their children.
- We understand the importance and value of play in a child’s development and acknowledge that play enables children to enjoy, participate, learn, practice, experiment and learn new skills.
- We believe in embracing the cultural diversity of the community we live in, where values, rights are respected and understanding and empathy are encouraged. We acknowledge that cultural diversity relates to gender, ethnicity, lifestyle, customs, beliefs, backgrounds and experiences.
- We believe that children need to be educated about the importance of the natural world and show them how to sustain natural resources, use products wisely and understand the impact we have on the world we live in. We will focus on making a difference wherever we can, from the Coordination Unit through to the Educators’ homes.
- We believe in the Early Years Learning Framework and uphold the ideas of Belonging, Being and Becoming as a way to create holistic approaches towards every child in care.

Bunny Cottage Pre-School & Long Day Care Centre Our centre was established in 1994 by an Early Childhood teacher and her family to provide high quality care and education for children from birth to 5 years. We are open from 8am till 6pm for 50 weeks per year and are closed on Public Holidays.
We are a small centre, only taking 29 children maximum per day. We believe this small number is very supportive of young children’s development, in a nurturing environment.
Sharon Graham is our Educational Leader and owner. She holds a Bachelor of Teaching in Early Childhood from Macquarie University. All our staff have experience in the Early Childhood sector and have completed their qualifications, or are working towards upskilling their current levels. We are proud to have a low staff turnover. Our staff can communicate in Tagalog, Greek, Mandarin and English.
We have been accredited as a high quality service since the centre opened and continue to provide an educational program in a home like environment.
Bunny Cottage provides a full Pre School program for our 3-5 children. All children at the centre have individual photographic profiles covering all aspects of their interest and learning.
Our centre is often described a ‘home like’ centre with a ‘warm atmosphere’. We have recently upgraded our yard to include real grass and are lucky enough to have a naturally shaded yard. We have a huge sandpit and enough space to run and play. Please contact us for more information.

Sans Souci Preschool is a not for profit community-based centre which has been serving families in the community for over 66 years. We operate in a beautiful setting overlooking Aqua Flora Park and our large playground has many mature trees with areas for children to explore nature. We have 3 modern classrooms along with additional spaces and the preschool is well resourced. A variety of stimulating and inviting experiences are provided in a warm, safe environment that inspires joy, encourages curiosity and promotes creativity. Our preschool advocates for high quality care and education for children which we believe is best provided when you have highly qualified and experienced teachers and educators. We are currently rated as Exceeding the National Quality Standards under ACECQA.
It is our belief that a great preschool experience has the ability to be one of the most important influences on a child’s wellbeing which benefits them through their whole school life. You are welcome to visit our preschool to see why we love it so much and how the children learn through our play-based, child-centred educational program.
Sans Souci Community Preschool follows the NSW Department of Education school terms, closing for School holidays. We also close on Public Holidays and staff development days which are generally held on the first and last day of the school year. Our licensed hours of operation are now 8.30am to 4.00pm.
The preschool caters for up to 72 children daily with up to 24 in a class. An Early Childhood Teacher leads the educational program in each class team along with 2 experienced and qualified educators. Children usually attend 2 or 3 days per week – 2 days Monday and Tuesday or Thursday and Friday or 3 days Monday to Wednesday or Wednesday to Friday.
We cater for children aged between 3 and 6 with a small number of 2-year old children turning 3 before the end of Term 1. When making offers of enrolment, the preschool follows a priority of access according to our funding agreement followed by children who have been on the waiting list the longest. Enrolments for the following year commence around June but cancellations can occur at any time during the year.

CENTRE NEWS
Rainbow Cottage Child Care Centre
What a wonderful month of February we have had at Rainbow Cottage with all the new families and children starting at our service, with the children settling in and less morning tears as they say good bye to their parents . We are looking forward to meeting the new families that will be joining us in March, and the children at the service can't wait to show you all the fun things they are up to. Our Preschoolers have really shown an interest in everything science the past month. We have had children coming in with ideas from home, some that have learnt them from older siblings or weekend outdoor fun days with the family and they have shared them with us here at Rainbow so we can share with the rest of the children. We explore with them, we let children lead activities if they want to (always of course keeping safety in mind).
We have utilised lots of items within the service to use in our experiments, lots of messy ones but also some very technical ones, the preschoolers took part in powering a digital clock with apples!!!! Yep apples!! And even though the time wasn't correct, it still worked and we were all wowed by the experiment. These activities then follow on to new activities and experiments and so on, day after day, this is why our Educators love working with children so much, we learn so much from them and with them.
We have our annual Beach Day at Rainbow will still be going ahead, and will be doing some water play but in small troughs and buckets. We will use this time to extend on the water restrictions being faced in NSW, discussing with the children ways we can and have been saving water and how they can help. The days activities water will be collected and used for watering our plants in our garden so that we are not wasting water. We have also been working on hand washing techniques, focusing on turning tap off whilst we are rubbing soap into our hands, counting to 10 and then turning tap back on to rinse. Little things like this add up over the day and we really want to help children learn that they can make a difference.
Some of our Preschoolers along with children from our other services will be joining Amanda at the Positive Thinking Clinic in March to take part in our first monthly Emotional Intelligence workshop. These workshops run for 45min and the children take part in a group play based and developmentally appropriate discussions and activities to provide children with the tools to use when needed.
PARENT INFORMATION
Kids and Poisons
In New South Wales, every year thousands of children need medical care for poisoning from products commonly found in and around the home. Most accidental poisonings occur to children younger than five, with children aged one to three at greatest risk.
Why are children more likely to be poisoned?
Young children are exploring their world and will put anything in their mouths. They also like to imitate what others do, including taking medications.
What can be poisonous to your child?
Medicines, cleaning, laundry, gardening and car products, insecticides, perfumes, paint, plants, insects and many others.
How can you prevent a poisoning?
- Store medicines and chemicals out of sight and reach of children, at least 1.5 metres off the ground and in a locked child resistant container.
- Use medicines and chemicals safely. Follow given instructions and return them to safe storage immediately after use.
- Buy products in child resistant containers and use child resistant locks on cupboards or cabinets that store poisons. You can buy these at many hardware stores.
- Ensure all products are stored in original containers and are clearly labelled. Regularly dispose of unwanted and out of date medicines by taking them to your nearest pharmacy for safe disposal.
- Don't call medicines 'lollies'.
- Check that the plants in your garden are not poisonous
For more information on the prevention of poisoning, call Kids Health, The Children's Hospital at Westmead on (02) 9845 3585.
