Penshurst Long Day Care Centre is a purpose built, non-profit centre, catering for the care and education of forty (40) children daily aged between 0 - 5 years.The Centre's sponsoring body is Hurstville City Council.
The Centre operates between the hours of 7.30 am to 6.00 pm, Monday to Friday and is closed for all public holidays and for approximately 3 weeks over the Christmas and New Year period.
Children attend on specific days each week on a full or part-time basis.
The Centre is registered for families to receive Child Care Benefit (CCB).

When taking children for enrolment, priority of access must be given within the guidelines of the State and Federal government funding bodies.
Placing a child's name on our waiting list unfortunately does not guarantee a position at any time for a child.
Waiting list applications are available from the centre. Please note that names will not be taken over the phone nor will application forms be posted.
You are welcome to come in at any time to fill out the application. If you would like to look around the Centre, please come on Monday and Wednesday 10.30am.
An update of the waiting list occurs in July of each year. Please notify us of any changes to the information on the formi.e. address, phone numbers.
When a position for your child becomes available the Centre will contact you.
It is the Centre's policy that if you do not accept a position for the days you have requested your application date will be changed to the current date.
An orientation interview will be arranged. During this interview, our programs, policies and procedures will be explained.
The Centre provides a nutritious morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea for the children.
Morning Tea- 8.45am
Lunch- 11.00am - 12.00pm
Afternoon Tea- 2.00pm
Late Afternoon tea- 5.00pm
The Centre offers a "progressive" meal time to cater for the individual needs of each child.Children can choose when and how long they spend at meal times.
The centre is accredited through QIAS which is a national system linked to Child Care Benefit. This is an ongoing process of evaluation and improvement focusing on the quality of care provided to the staff, families and children at the centre.
Our staff are qualified, experienced, caring and interested in children as individuals and sensitive to the needs of the families using the Centre. We welcome your ideas and suggestions into the program.
The staff are qualified and experienced professionals. They are regularly involved in professional development to update their skills and understanding of early childhood education.
The children are encouraged to participate in a variety of activities including indoor, outdoor play, painting, blocks, puzzles, language and music. These activities are designed according to the individual child's interests and to extend their learning and development.
