Treatment programmes for the child, or adolescent, who is experiencing difficulties in any of the following areas:-
If there is an auditory processing problem
difficulties in comprehending, in
discriminating or remembering instructions
If there is a visual perception/spacial problem
visual tracking problems
receptive and discrimination
difficulties in body image
right/left orientation difficulties
If there is a handwriting or fine motor co-ordination / manipulative problem.
poor pencil grip, poor letter/number formation
eye hand co-ordination problems
slow reaction (response) time
poor motor tone/strength
difficulties in carrying out purposeful tasks eg. cutting with scissors, tying shoe laces
delayed constructional ability
If there are a laterality problem
crossed dominance
undetermined dominance
If there is a hyperactivity or behavioural factor.
If there is a short attention span, concentration problem or is easily distracted.
Programmes and treatment for children 5 years and over, and High School students in Years 7 to 12, are individually structured to develop skills in the following:-
hand writing
fine motor control and co-ordination, upper limb muscle tone
motor reaction time
concentration
perceptual/ sensory motor integration
identifying early signs of dyslexia, dysgraphia or dyspraxia etc
