Oatley Red Bear Preschool is privately owned and operated. The centre occupies the ground floor of a home situated amongst quality homes in a quiet and safe residential street.
The centre is open from 7.30am to 5.00pm Mon-Fri, 48 weeks of the year. (Closed 4 weeks during Christmas) Each day the centre cares for 39 children per day, aged 2-5 years.
Parents have an option to enrol their child in the regular program, 8.00am - 4.00pm or the extended program, 7.30am - 5.00pm. Food is provided by the parents. The centre promotes healthy, nutritional food.
Fees are currently: $65.00 per day reg hours 8am -4pm, and $72 per day Extended hours 7.30am - 5pm
The centre is accredited under the Quality Improvement and Accreditation System for Long Day Care Centres. All families are allegeable for Child Care Benefits, applications are made to the Family Assistance Office.
The centre is air conditioned and well equipped, with all resources complying with safety regulations. The large outdoor play area is covered by two large shades structures to ensure children are exposed to minimal amounts of direct sunlight whilst playing.
A school readiness program has been developed to assist children with pre-literacy, pre-numeracy and pre-reading skills.
Journals are kept for each child, developed with digital photography, photos are taken throughout the year reflecting the overall experiences of the child at the centre. Each year the journals are burnt on to a DVD in a slide show format complimented with music. Each child will take their journal home at the end of the year.

An Authorised Supervisor.
An Early Childhood Teacher, University Trained.
3 Childcare Teachers, Diploma in Children's Services.
1 Trainee, currently studying Certificate 111.
All staff have First Aid Certificates.

Our program is designed to foster self-esteem, self-confidence, competence in self-help skills and those inner controls and language abilities necessary for effective social interaction.
Children are guided to question, experiment, think and to reason, to help children develop into self confident, caring, competent individuals.
We encourage emotional development through verbal expressions of thoughts and feelings, the experience of rules, limits, kindness, justice and empathy, recognising and accepting emotions in others, so as to develop a respect for others.
We encourage the physical development of gross motor skills through outdoor and indoor games and activities, as well as fine motor development through the use of manipulative toys, blocks, puzzles and other tools and objects. We encourage interest in language through stories, puppetry, home corner and it's equipment, music games, science, drama, problem solving and other conversations. We encourage development of responsibility for one's own actions in self-help, health, safety and interpersonal areas and to exercise appropriate independence.
We encourage social development by providing opportunities for sharing, taking turns, making friends, resolving conflicts, solving problems, helping others, recognising and accepting others, cooperating on projects and building self esteem. We seek to provide a healthy, physically safe and emotionally secure environment, where there is acceptance, respect, caring and appreciation of each child.
The Family:
