To Children
We believe children should be treated as individuals and be respected, valued and loved. They should be treated as equal and unique, no matter what gender, race or disability they may have.
We believe in providing children with a stimulating, motivating, challenging and creative environment that caters to all the children's needs and interests. This environment should discourage gender stereotyping and encourage an anti-bias and multicultural curriculum, and allow children to express themselves freely.
We believe children should be cared for in a pleasant, safe and hygienic environment where they can feel safe, secure and loved.
We believe that children should be provided with a program that covers all areas of development, that are age/stage appropriate for individuals, as well as for encouragement of group situations.
We believe that encouraging a child's autonomy and independence of great importance, which gives them the chance to explore and practice newly learnt skills, as well as to learn to value themselves as individuals who have strengths and weaknesses and value their own abilities as well as that of their peers.
To Parents/Families
We believe that staff should develop open effective communication with parents and families and be able to show this by being empathic, listening to them and being open and honest with them.
We believe parents should be actively encouraged to be involved in the centres program and also be encouraged to participate in daily routines.
We believe that staff should encourage parents from a multicultural background to share their beliefs, culture and practice, including materials from their country, with staff, families and other children can benefit from this.
We believe that parents and families should be treated as individuals and that all information should remain confidential.

Kinderoos believe that parents are an important part of our centre. If you would like to be a part of our day please speak to your child's teacher.
Perhaps you could read a story to the children, do an art and craft activity with them or just spend time in the classroom with the children, it could even be something simple like cutting up fruit for afternoon tea. Be assured that no parent is forced to participate in the centres programme.
Parents will also be asked to attend Parent Advisory Committee Meetings if they wish. These meetings are usually held a few times a year. They are usually run by the parents. These meetings are often a good chance to address any concerns you may have and also offer any suggestions or comments you may have. It also is a good opportunity to meet other parents.
The centre will also hold one Parent/Teacher evenings during the year. Parents are also asked to attend any excursions the centre holds. We will also hold other special events during the year such as a Grandparents day, concerts, morning teas etc.
