Family Day Care offers care for children between 0-12 years, primarily catering for 0-5 years with some before and after school and vacation care and allows for flexible hours.
Family Day Care is a licensed and accredited child care service operating with a Coordination Unit who register and provide ongoing support to suitable educator to provide care for up to 5 pre-schoolers at any one time within their own home.
Family Day Care provides children with the opportunity to play and learn in a small home like environment. Activities provided are targeted at children's interests and needs. Children are able to interact socially within a small group as well as establishing a one on one relationship with the individual educator.
Staff at Family Day Care communicate with parents via a number of mediums:
A 4 week phone call to new families after commencing care.
Visit slips are placed in children's journals when a Child Development Officer visits the educato's home or at playsession.
Email photos of children partaking in various activities.
Regular newsletters.
The scheme also participates in a number of educational, cultural and religious activities during the year including the Easter Picnic, Children's Christmas Party, Family Day Care Week celebrations, Transition to School Programs and visits to neighbouring Family Day Care schemes playsession.
The scheme has a deregulated fee structure where educator have the choice of charging the scheme's set fee ($5.30 per hour) or independently setting their own fees.
Child Care Benefit and the Child Care Tax Rebate are available to families in line with Australian Government Legislation.
