Welcome to Honey Bee Pre-School - Kindergarten, we are a privately owned, long day care centre.
Our centre is designed with two separate classrooms and associated play areas. The play areas are set away from the street and are separated according to age. The Centre is open 52 weeks a year, closing only on public holidays and weekends and operating from 7am to 6pm. The centre is licensed for 44 children aged between two and six years with one room catering for 2-3 years another for 4-6 years. Our on-site parking facilities allows you to drop off and pick up your child with ease and in safety.
We have developed a new way in which we program; our program reflects children interests. We believe that children learn through their interests, our program is based on a weekly format which allows the children to experience the skills and challenges we have set out for them, allowing them to chose the age/stage appropriate activities. This encourages the children to be responsible for their own learning outcomes through choices in activities, interests and routine. By encouraging free choice, we are developing the children’s self help skills, cognitive development, decision making, problem solving and physical development. The children are able to learn the importance of sharing, turn taking, co-operation and tolerance.
We have evaluation books for each area of development, which are available for the parents to look at and see which direction the program is heading. We will be following the NSW Curriculum Framework for Children’s Services.
All of your child’s meals are catered for by the Centre. We have a 5 week rotating menu which provides a nutritionally balanced diet from the 5 food groups. The meals are cooked on a daily basis and use all fresh ingredients. The menu includes morning tea which always consists of a fruit platter with varying sides e.g. sao’s, yogurt etc, lunch is always a hot, healthy and nutritious meal, afternoon tea always consists of a vegetable platter and varying sides e.g. rice crackers with toppings, banana bread etc.
The centre provides milk at morning tea and families need to provide a drink bottle daily for their child, filled with water. Please make sure that you label your child’s drink bottle clearly. Please do not send cordial or juice in your child’s water bottles, we teach the children about healthy practices and it is not good for their teeth.
We are happy to cater for special diets e.g. dairy free, allergies etc. If your child does have special dietary requirements we ask that you clearly record these on your child’s enrolment form to ensure that we provide your child with appropriate meals.
We look forward to welcoming you to our centre, please contact us to discuss your child care needs.
